In order to provide the most appropriate general education programs, General Education Center of our school has been reorganized as the School of General Education in the academic year of 2012.

There are three centers in our school: Learning Center, Art Center, and Physical Education Center. There are also four fields of educational committees: Applied Chinese, Applied English, Social Science, and Physical Education. Each committee holds regular meetings to discuss the methods to improve qualities of teaching.

Besides, to ensure the efficiency of our educational programs, there are four committees: General Education, General Education Curricula, Instructor´s Qualification Certificate, and Art Promotion. Besides the dean, there are two office workers.

Based on the core ideal of "holistic education", general education of HUST cultivates in the students the life attitude of love, respect, and care via teaching by behavior, words, and the surroundings.

We subdivided our courses into four categories: natural science, liberal arts, social science, and life care. In each category, we provide practical programs which will help students learning through an open and invigorating environment.

With the help of these courses, we hope we can expand the vision of our students. With the help of these visions, they can become a better member of our civic society.

In the future, we wish we can find more future-oriented curricula for our students.
