Department of International Business Management
The department goals are to cultivate students in business administration, globalization, and computerization in the business world. Students learn business diagnosis, decision analysis, and financial controls.
The department courses are divided into three main fields that consist of: economic and trade, business management and administration, and convention and exhibition management. These are designed to teach students to apply the techniques of business administration to practical affairs. The department puts a great emphasis on the cooperation between local businesses and HUST by promoting the application of a knowledge-based economy. The department also establishes alliances with businesses to provide students with job opportunities.
Department of Applied Finance
The department offers programs to train students to be managers of financial marketing and finance planning. Students are expected to master theories and practices in finance and marketing management that are the requirements of financial institutions and marketing labor markets. Students are encouraged to pass certification examinations in order to receive better jobs in finance.
In order to help students obtain practical knowledge of financial systems, the department has introduced several cooperative industry-academy programs with businesses that allow students to participate in internship. In the preparation for this, the department also has financial simulation devices and ERP systems that help students gain a greater understanding of financial market operations and business management.
Department of Human Resource Management and Development / Graduate Institute
The educational goal of the HR department / graduate institute is to cultivate future professionals in human resources. Human resources is one of Taiwan's strengths and critical to its continuing development. Human resources is important due to increasing specialization in large-scale businesses, global strategies and booming growth to the service / tourism & recreation industry. Professional－Value－ Humanistic spirit is our core value and our educational goal is to provide well-trained human resource managers with the tools they need. We also create a humanistic spirit, sensitivity to others and professionalism of recruitment, selection, staffing, employee training, staff development and employee relations. The department's programs also provide internships for students with human resource professionals in various businesses.
Department of Marketing and Distribution Management
The Department of Marketing and Distribution Management was established in 2005 for cultivating student as beginning & medium level professionals on "marketing planning" and "logistic operation". Students are trained in general education, humanities, and information management, specializing in "wholesale retailing", "warehouse logistics", and "advertisement marketing". Our courses are designed for training students in "marketing planning and digital application" and "logistic operation and store management". In order to respond to industry's human resource needs, a leisure business course was introduced for cultivating students as beginning & medium level professionals on "leisure marketing" and "leisure business management". The course is designed for training students about "leisure business management and marketing". In addition to the course learning, the course design of projects writing and internship practice for seniors helps them to understand business operation and creates a balance between practical skills and academic theory.
Department of Information Management
The educational goal of the Department of Information Management is to educate students to become specialists possessing the capability to integrate information technologies of business application and management. Starting with courses in elementary MIS and Applied Mathematics as our department´s curriculums design basis, two course fields make up the major practical discipline programs:Software Design and Management(SDM) and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP). Following the curriculum design, students of this department will receive adaptive training on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through well-organized course plans. We place particular emphasis on students' practical training through application manipulation and laboratory participation. The purpose is to improve students' applied skills and familiarity with information systems and business applications. In brief, students who graduate from the program have the practical skills and capabilities in information systems planning, design and management to meet the demands of the business world.
