Vice president of Taiwan, Hsiao, attended Hsiu Ping University of Science and Technology name changing ceremony.
The ceremony of school name changing to Hsiu Ping University of Science and Technology was held on August 1st at 9: 30am in front of the main entrance. The ceremony was hosted by the university president, Chung Rei Gwo and there are more than 20 VIP guests including vice president of Taiwan, Hsiao; the vocational education secretary from MOE, Lee Yen Yi; vice mayor of Taichung, Tsai Being Kwen; legislator, Lu Xo Yen; Tsai Jin Zon; Zheng Li Wen; Jian Zhao Chen; city council committee, Dwon Wei Yu; the director of Dai Li industrial service center, Wang Wen Chung; factory assistant manager, Jung Jin Zhu; Da Li education council board director, Lai Jian Chun; alumni association chair, Zho Chi Tong; honorary trust board chair, Lin Bao Li; chair of trust board, Lin Tsun Li; school affair consultant, Li Bao Chun and former university president, Lee Xin Chien. Moreover, there are another approximately 100 guests including principals from many senior/vocational high schools, industry cooperation representatives, alumni association and many trust board supervisors. Our students and faculty were also sharing joyfulness at the ceremony.
Vice president, Hsiao, has given praise on the achievement of Hsiu Ping in its administrative work, academic interaction and industry-academy cooperation. Hsiao further stated that faculty members in Hsiu Ping have made an impressive achievement with National Science Council projects in industry-academy cooperation. Students have also shown a good work in off-campus competitions and internship. Those fabulous performances have demonstrated that Hsiu ping has indeed fulfilled the educational goal of being modern Moist. Nevertheless, the office assistances have produced efficient working performance which is the strong back up of the university as its excellent administrative system.
President Chung addressed that Hsiu Ping has made some break-through in school facilities and new faculty recruitment and orientation. In the beginning of this year, Hsiu Ping has obtained the opportunity to join restructuring and upgrading program from Economic Department- industry bureau-Dai Li district for improving the quantity and the quality of industry-academy cooperation. Furthermore, the upcoming freeway-Taichung 4, will be opened in the end of year and bring more convenient traffic option.
August 1st of 2011 is a meaningful day that is worthwhile for celebration because of the new school title; Hsiu Ping University of Science and Technology.
Hsiuping will change its title to technological university on August 1st.
Ministry of Education has inspected HIT for the application of transforming to technological university this past March 25th and recognized our efforts and performance positively. The official date of changing to Hsiuping Technological University will be on August 1st, announced on May 20th. Under the leadership of our president Rei-Guo Chung, it is officially for Hsiuping marching to the ranks of technological university. President Rei-Guo Chung has been encouraging whole faculties and students for working diligently and preparing for facing the next challenge.
Hsiuping holds the motto of “honesty and refinement”. The steady and practical school culture is based on the three elements; Chinese, English and information as foundation. The goals are to integrate humanity with technology, pursue outstanding teaching, develop excellent quality of academy-industry cooperation and cultivate job-oriented students. The purposes are to shape the vocational-oriented students and the knowledge-application modern Mo-Di in industry. All these qualities make Hsiuping an excellent school and a technological university with characteristics. Let’s look forward to the prospect of our school.
Congratulations beforehand on the triumph of Hsiuping transforming to Technological University
After one year of HIT faculty members’ hard working, the field inspection of the application for 100th academic year transforming to technological university on March 25th has completed consummately. From the teaching perspectives, we have kept improving instructors’ qualification, teaching facilities, the relationship of academy-industry cooperation, faculty members’ research with quality and quantity, students’ internship opportunity and their practical work performance during this year. From the administrative aspects, HIT has been promoting objective management, faculty performance evaluation and heart-warming campus. All these elements in scales and patterns provide HIT with the quality of being a technological university.
The evaluation committee members have made a highly positive approval for the break through and the progress in teaching and administration over this year. They are also impressed by the strong intention of HIT to become a technological university. The ambience and the pattern of HIT campus have shown the quality of a university.
All the faculty members’ perseverant hard work is appreciated over this year. The prominent achievement of research projects in NSC and academy-industry cooperation have identified and proved HIT as a university of teaching with academy-industry collaboration. The great performances of students’ contest outside of campus and internship have fulfilled HIT teaching goals of modern Mo-Di. Our faculty members’ working efficiency has back up this school with outstanding quality of administration.
We are holding optimistic confidence and hoping for the triumph of HIT.
Creating value and marching toward Technological University
The goal of HIT marching toward Technological University has never stopped. We have been working toward our goals with school motto “integrity and innovation” which embrace diligent hard-working, humanistic and technological school culture. The pursuit of our prospects for integrating of humanity, technology, outstanding teaching, high quality of industry-academy cooperation and cultivation of pragmatic expertise shape our students to become modern Mohist and create multi-values and competitive abilities for job market.
It is a goal to cultivate our students to become perseverance modern Mohist; unselfish altruism modern Mohist; specified job-oriented competence modern Mohist; knowledge-application modern Mohist and spirit of collaboration modern Mohist.

The prospect of Hsiu-Ping Institute of Technology transforming to technological university will become real after one year of our faculties and students’ persistent hard working. On May 21st, the assessment committee from Ministry of Education has given positive credits for achievements of Hsiu-Ping Institute of Technology. Furthermore, Hsiu-Ping has acquired one year permission for preparing to transform to technological university. In other words, Hsiu-Ping Institute of Technology has received the ticket to cross the threshold to become technological university.
Our President Quo-Rei, Chung has expressed his gratitude to those school faculties and students who have been supportive. Chung said, everybody’s effort has set up a consolidated foundation as the foot-traces moving along. He further stated, as we walking through the green-exuberant campus, we see every department has got better facilities and equipments for teaching resources. The volume of books at our library has increased tremendously and the consistence of contact with industries combining teaching contents has cultivated our school to function with the perspectives from global vision, humanity and technology. Our goal is to become an excellent industry-academy cooperation university and also to embrace the characteristics of sophisticated pedagogies, innovated research, care-giving services, high quality administrative services, and a heart-warming campus.
Hsiu-Ping has started to count down to reach the goal of becoming technological university. President Chung told school faculties and students that we have to strive to move forward to our goal of transforming to technological university until August 1st next year. It is believed that Hsiu-Ping will share the glory by the time of next year
HIT Passed MOE Evaluation and Qualified for University-Renaming
Its great scores being recognized by MOE, HIT has passed the 2009 Project Evaluation and met the preliminary requirements for university-renaming. Faculties and students are overwhelmed by the achievement, while the next challenge will be the field visit scheduled on May 21st.
Professor Ruey-Gwo Chung, President of HIT, says his school has fulfilled all prerequisites and requirements for University-Renaming and special tasks forces are called together for auditing and monitoring curriculum planning, teaching, and administration. President Chung says in a figurative way that all his teachers and students are now taking battle positions for the new era to come.
